Bodalla STP Operations Manual (IDEA) for Eurobodalla Shire Council (NSW).

Eurobodalla Shire Council (ESC) had recently commissioned a new STP at Bodalla.  ASpect was heavily involved in the detailed design, controls design and commissioning of the STP.  ESC then engaged ASpect to write the process operations manual for the plant.  This dovetailed with the functional description, also written by ASpect.  The operations manual was detailed and exhaustive.  It included a plant description, listed the design criteria, provided process theory for activated sludge biomass and provided advice on optimising the removal of each individual pollutant.  Plant specific sections were also included.  Unit process guidelines were provided for each process unit, including inspections, valve positioning,  set point adjustments and cross referencing of the alarm responses listed in the functional description.  Detailed procedures were also written for all the common tasks that may need to be undertaken by the operators.  These procedures included monitoring, the troubleshooting of effluent quality excursions, triggers and actions for the diversion of effluent from recycling to creek discharge and vice versa, sludge management, tank and equipment isolation for each structure and mechanical equipment item.
